Get To Know Julie

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a relationally-driven person. Even when I was young, I felt the most alive when I was active (playing just about any sport or exploring outside) and connecting with others. It’s just how I was made.

This combination led me to join various athletic groups, each of which had different coaching/player dynamics. I loved being part of those teams, challenging myself with the activity at hand, and working together towards a goal. I was incredibly fortunate to be surrounded with strong, positive friends, mentors, coaches, teachers and community throughout my development. This was instrumental in teaching me foundational elements of life, faith, and relationship. With this influence, teaching and coaching became organic areas for me to use my strengths to connect with people through athletics.

With a natural affinity for psychology and counseling, I knew I wanted to work with people in a meaningful way as part of my career. For years, that happened through avenues combining education and sports. It felt intuitive and satisfying to connect with individuals, communicate effectively, help them understand a concept, then watch them grow and change as a result of that knowledge.

I then realized I wanted to take my work a little deeper. Although my degrees are in Psychology/Counseling, it wasn’t therapy that I specifically wanted to pursue. It had an obvious foundation there. But there was another piece. I wanted to help people see results in their lives. Outcomes. Movement. All around a specific topic that was causing them doubt and stagnancy. Which I specifically noticed with many of my students at the time who were experiencing this as they considered life after graduation.

When I had this idea to develop a program to help people practically uncover more of who they are and what they’re meant to do, it was a “lightbulb moment”. I knew I had to try it. It’s like the work found me. And while I never considered myself to be particularly entrepreneurial, starting a business has challenged me and revealed how much of ourselves can evolve when the passion is there.

My time with the KYP allows me to connect with people in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Seeing the transformation is incredibly rewarding.

I love being able to combine my background in teaching/coaching/psychology/counseling with a practical, holistic approach towards change. I enjoy meeting someone where they are, giving them permission to be who they truly are, connecting a few dots for them, and providing a place for them to ask questions. Then watch them grow and change as a result of the answers.

Finding that sweet spot causes so many interwoven things to come together.

Seeing people thrive in their strengths and purpose inspires me.

Which is why I’m so passionate about helping clients connect with theirs.
